Club Security In Gun Battle

Riverside Ca. Nov. 3, 2007

Riverside Police are looking for witnesses to a shooting across the street from the El Castillo nightclub early Sunday morning.
The victim, a 27-year-old Hemet man, was shot in the abdomen; friends drove him to a hospital, where he was treated and released.
Investigators believe the suspect, Juan Ramos, 26, of Riverside, and the victim had argued, and that Ramos allegedly got a gun from his vehicle and shot him.

An armed security guard at the Chicago Avenue club witnessed the shooting; he and the suspect exchanged shots. The guard was not hit, but Ramos was wounded in the leg.
Ramos was treated at Riverside County Regional Medical Center and charged with attempted homicide.
Anyone who saw the shooting is asked to call Detective Rick Wheeler at (951) 353-7134.
