A City of Newburgh woman punched and kicked four store employees when she was caught stealing at Wal-Mart, town police said.

Angel Rivera, 18, of Lander Street, faces felonies of second-degree robbery and second-degree assault along with a misdemeanor of petty larceny. Town police said employees stopped Rivera Thursday at the exit and asked to see her receipt. While employees checked it against the merchandise she was carrying, police said, Rivera became irate and attacked. Police said a security video showed Rivera stole about $34 worth of merchandise. She has been jailed at Orange County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail.
