SECURITY OFFICER STRUCK BY CAR www.privateofficer.com

KANSAS CITY, KS. Oct. 14, 2007 -- A security guard was taken to a local hospital Saturday morning following a disturbance in the River Market area.
Police say that the confrontation started with a traffic crash in front of the SKY Box at Fifth and Walnut at about 2:30 a.m.
Police said a gray Dodge Durango sideswiped another car.
Everyone in both cars got out and started arguing, and a fight ensued, officials said. Two security officers who were working on patrol said they tried to intervene and break up the fight and put an end to the disturbance and was forced to pull out their pepper spray and used it on two people in the Dodge Durango, including the driver.

Those two got back into the Durango and pulled away, hitting one of the security guards in the process, officials said. It is not clears as to whether or not the driver intentionally struck the officer but he did flee the scene.
Police said they are now looking for the Durango and the two men who took off. Officials said the Durango had no license plates but if found could face assault and leaving the scene of the accident charges.
